We kicked things off a little early this week to celebrate World Book Day in the best way possible – by diving headfirst into a treasure trove of stories, scents, and surprises at our next stop on the Thrift Map: @arlies.books !
Joined by the always-amazing Sienna from the @sfheritagehouse , we set out on a literary adventure through this cozy gem at 14 Beckwith St. S. – and wow, did we strike gold!
From classic page-turners that warmed our nostalgia-loving hearts, to new reads we instantly added to our summer must-read list, Arlie’s shelves were full of magic. And the surprises didn’t stop there! We stumbled upon a commemorative Smiths Falls Bears brochure (hello, hockey history!) and even found gorgeously scented soaps that are basically gift-giving gold.
Oh, and did we mention the puzzles? SO many puzzles – the kind that’ll keep you hooked on a rainy weekend with a cup of tea. 🧩🍵
We barely scratched the surface before the lunch hour pulled us back to reality, but trust us – we’ll be back.

We only made it through the first floor (yes, there’s that much to see!) and still managed to uncover some absolute treasures: dreamy antique decor, charming furniture, and gift-worthy gems galore.

We celebrated a on the weekend with our Skele-Bration event and had an epic time with you all, trick-or-treating in the downtown!

Thank you to the Smiths Falls Accessibility Committee members who helped us hand out candy at the Town Hall Band Stand; making it an incredible trick-or-treating experience for all! We would also like to give a special shout out to Councilor Stephen Robinson who also joined us at the Band Stand for trick-or-treating.

A special thanks to all of the businesses in our downtown who helped make this one of the biggest Skele-Brations to date!

Happy Halloween from the DSFBA! 🎃

We celebrated a on the weekend with our Skele-Bration event and had an epic time with you all, trick-or-treating in the downtown!

Thank you to the Smiths Falls Accessibility Committee members who helped us hand out candy at the Town Hall Band Stand; making it an incredible trick-or-treating experience for all! We would also like to give a special shout out to Councilor Stephen Robinson who also joined us at the Band Stand for trick-or-treating.

A special thanks to all of the businesses in our downtown who helped make this one of the biggest Skele-Brations to date!
